Katie Holmes and Diane Keaton Discover the Joys of Target
Not only is Katie Holmes back to work, but she’s put aside those $200k shopping trips to Barney’s to mingle with the little people (no, not Tom!) at Target. As has Diane Keaton.
Celebrities: they’re just like us.
Said the future ex-Mrs. Cruise of visiting the store while she’s on location in Shrevesport, Louisiana to film the bomb-in-the-making “Mad Money:”
“I met some really great people, and it was nice…they did recognize me, and it was a pleasure to meet them. We had nice chats about kids, and it was lovely.”
Oh, god, does she think she’s First Lady (of Scientology) or something? I picture her waltzing through the home appliances section with her gaggle of handlers around her and doing a royal wave, stopping only to kiss babies and shake hands with the masses. And everyone’s probably caught in that in-between place of not knowing if they should flee in terror when given the punk-ass-bitch-evil-eye-of-doom by her people or approach her as if she were a science experiment. Me, I’d go with the latter–that’s just the way I roll.
But not to be outdone by Krazy Katie, Keaton opens her mouth and proves that that wacky on-screen persona? Not such an act:
“This has been a big emotional experience for me…I’ve noticed that there is a lot of shopping in very large buildings, almost like warehouses. It’s pretty astonishing…I’ve noticed that there are not many people in these very large spaces and I keep thinking about the merchandise. I keep thinking, ‘Are they selling any of this merchandise?’ They must be.”
Step away from the bong, Annie Hall.
You know Queen Latifah, the third co-star in this movie, read this, thought “What in the holy Hell have I gotten myself into?” and immediately called up her managers and fired them.
