Isaiah Washington, who gained more attention for his homophobic slurs towards castmate T.R. Knight than he ever did for his acting, was officially fired from “Grey’s Anatomy” Thursday. “Officially” because the rumors that Washington was going to be out on his ass have pretty much been rampant since the remarks, made last Fall, were first made public.

In a statement through his publicist, Washington was his usual, kind, subtle self:

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more.”

Yes, reference the infamous line from “Network.” But, dude, you weren’t fired because you lost ratings, you were fired because you’re a bigot and everyone on set hates you. A notes that the firing was because Washington’s behavior was a liability. Gee, ya think?
