Nicole Richie will serve 4 days in County Jail for her DUI arrest. She was also fined $2,048, has to complete 21 days of alcohol education and is on probation for 3 years. She must report to jail by September 28th.

A court commissioner warned her that if she drove drunk again and killed someone, she’d face murder, not manslaughter, charges. Hopefully the twit has learned her lesson.

All in all, she played it smart and didn’t bother arguing this any further. I really hope she just does the four days without all the Paris melodrama and gets it over with. Besides, now she can come off looking better in her Diane Sawyer interview next week. She can be all “Yes, I am accepting responsibility” blah blah blah and then start talking about how happy she is to be pregnant and how she’ll teach her child not to drive the wrong friggin’ way on the freeway. I can’t imagine she’ll try the “I’ve found Jesus” route Wonky tried, as, clearly, that doesn’t work.

I love the whole “Jackie Kennedy meets Audrey Hepburn” look she was working going into court, with Joel Madden in a dark suit next to her. It’s so over the top! I wish she was carrying a chihuaha dressed in a pillbox hat, as that would really complete the ensemble.
