Posh Claims: “I’m Just a Normal Girl”
The publicity machine has begun to grind forward to promote Victoria Beckham‘s new reality special for NBC. Oh, wait, sorry–it’s not a reality show, it’s a “documentary” about Posh. At least that’s what she’s calling it. And she just wants us Americans to appreciate her sense of humor and realize she’s just a regular old girl.
“It’s funny. People really get to see what I’m really like. I have quite a dry sense of humor, which I hope is going to translate to Americans.”
When you have to tell people how humorous you are you actually sound pretentious. I wonder if she realizes that. Hmmm, she’s not too smart, so I’d go with a resounding no.
The one-hour special was originally supposed to be a six-episode series, but supposedly Posh’s schedule to shoot was limited (must be all that hands-on mommying she does; that or the endless photo ops) so they condensed it to a one shot deal. Though, per Vicks, ya never know:
“I wouldn’t say I’m going to be the next TV star. We’ll see what people make of this.”
Hopefully, all we’ll make of it is that she’s an obnoxious wannabe. Seeing as she also claims she has no desire to start up her showbiz career, this shouldn’t bum her out too much.
One thing we can praise Xenu for, though: contrary to a few reports, her BFFs, Tom Cruise and his future ex, will not be appearing on the show. Considering Maverick sucks the air out of any room he’s in and his wife stares blankly off into the netherworld lamenting her long-lost (and sold) soul, that was probably a wise decision on someone’s part.
