Hilarious! A mere two weeks after their totally not-legal “spiritual ceremony” in Bora Bora, and after they sold all the photos to magazines, Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds are splitting up. Damn! I had March in the pool. Per a joint statement released to People:

“After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.”

He probably didn’t want to give up any of his money that a legal marriage might force him to…not to mention giving up his rumored extra-curricular activities. Allegedly. I’m sure he’ll contend to his dying day that he really was just being a good citizen when he picked up that transvestite hooker. Sure. Happens ALL the time.
