Katherine Heigl: Loud Mouth With A Cause
The cause being, naturally, to become a breakout tv star. And Katherine Heigl already has a leg up on that–”Knocked Up” was a huge hit. It was mainly because of the power of Judd Apatow, but no one can say it underperformed and it did put Heigl front and center. Of course she felt the need to open her big piehole and call it a movie that she found “hard to love” because it was so sexist, but whatever.
Point is, this chick wants to make it in movies and her next one, “27 Dresses,” will be a big indicator to see if she can. It’s going up against “Cloverfield,” JJ Abrams new sci-fi film, and “Mad Money,” the made-for-tv-esque crapfest starring Mrs. Tom Cruise. Personally, I’d pay the ten bucks to see whatever the monster is in “Cloverfield” smash both the Katie H.s to shreds, but, hey, that’s me. “27 Dresses” will probably do good. It’s a rom-com about a woman just looking for twu luv and how can resist that?
So here she is last night at the film’s premiere, looking gimmicky and chipper. The dress is so meh it’s hard to even hate it. It’s just…there. And the necklace looks like something from my grandmother’s jewelry box. But I’m sure that’s what Katherine was going for: non-offensive, not too sexy, just a girl next door look. Of course, the minute she opens her mouth that illusion is ruined, but points for trying. I guess.
