Prince: Cash Only, Please
If you wanna see Prince in concert, here’s a tip: leave the credit card home and hit the ATM. According to Planet Gossip, His Royal Purpleness gave a surprise concert at Green Door in Hollywood the other night. The ticket price? $200–which actually isn’t bad. But there was a catch: cash only. Were the Sopranos there? That seems so mafioso. Not that I would know anything about that. I’m just, ya know, sayin’; please, I don’t want to wake up with a horse’s head in my bed or Joe Pesci laughing over me as he asks why he amuses me.
Moving on, there ended up being 250 people there, meaning that there was $50,000 cash on the premises. That could buy a lot of eyeliner. And raspberry berets. And…purple things. I’ll stop now.
Prince wound down at 2 a.m. with his signature song, “Purple Rain,” as the crowd, including Pink, Leelee Sobieski, Adrian Grenier, Amy Smart, Bill Maher, Tara Reid and Melanie Griffith rocked out. What, no Antonio Banderas? It’s not a party with Antonio.
The next stop on Prince’s “No Checks Allowed” tour is the Coachella Music Festival on April 26th. Start saving now.
