Kate Middleton: “I wanted to meet Lady Diana”
It seems like yesterday and yet 15 years have passed since the death of Princess Diana. In England, of course, is still very much felt a recurrence, and this year Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, has spoken about what would be the future “mother-in-law” (‘s weird to imagine Diana in that role, right?) if times were different.
The similarity between the styles of the two princesses, however, was noted on several occasions by the media and by the British, who called Kate – indeed, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – the new “People’s Princess”, a name used so far only to Diana, after the separation from Prince Charles. I also remember an interview with Sarah Ferguson on CNN shortly after the marriage of William and Kate, stating that mother-in-law and daughter in law
“Would become great friends. Diana had always wanted a daughter, she would be so happy to have her. ”
Prince William instead has never been too keen on the comparison between the mother and the wife, perhaps burned by the disastrous effects that had the attention of the press against Diana. But fifteen years ago was a … boy is now a man of thirty able to distinguish between things that Diana and Kate put it this way:
“There is no pressure: no one wants to take the place of my mother. What she did was great, but what really counts in life is to build your own future and your own destiny and Kate will do a very good job in that regard. ”
Work that Kate has also already begun, giving a new era of popularity to the British royal family, and who knows that the example of Diana is not served: she now speaks so…
“I would love to meet her. It’s obviously a woman who can inspire those who look at what it was. “
