Tom Cruise has to take regular breaks on his new movie due to the weight of his costumes.

The 50-year-old actor – who is currently in the UK with daughter Suri while he films ‘All You Need is Kill’ – is struggling with the immense size of the 30kg suits, and takes “hours” to recover after long shoots.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Tom and the cast have been taking regular breaks as the suits are so heavy.

“In one scene they have to run nearly half-a-mile in the armour. It’s taking them hours to recover.”

Tom is currently with Suri for the first time in three months and is reported to have spent Thanksgiving Day with her yesterday (22.11.12).

The ‘Rock of Ages’ star and his wife Katie Holmes split up earlier this year after five years of marriage, and the former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ beauty has moved to New York, although she spent the US national holiday with her family in Ohio.

She said: “We have Thursday off, so I’m going to have a chance to go home with my family. My sister makes a really good sausage stuffing and my mom makes a great turkey.”
